All transactions are processed over encrypted (TLS) connections through a PCI DSS–compliant payment gateway. We do not store your full card number or CVV. Refunds are issued to your original payment method.

No other payment methods are accepted at this time. All card payments must be made in the name of the account holder placing the order.

3. Currency & Pricing

All prices on gadgetora.co.uk are displayed in GBP (£). The amount charged to your card will be in GBP. Prices may also be displayed in other currencies (EUR, USD, CAD, AUD, NZD) for reference purposes; however, the checkout currency is GBP.

If your card is denominated in a currency other than GBP, your card issuer or bank will apply its own exchange rate and may charge a foreign transaction fee. We have no control over these charges and are not responsible for any currency conversion costs incurred.

4. Payment Authorisation & Capture

When you place an order, our payment gateway will place a temporary authorisation hold on your card to verify that the funds are available. This is not a charge — it is a reservation of funds.

Funds are captured (charged) when your order is confirmed and prepared for dispatch. For orders containing multiple items that are dispatched separately, funds may be captured proportionally at the point of each dispatch.

If your order is cancelled before dispatch, the authorisation hold will be released. Depending on your bank, it may take 3–10 business days for the hold to clear from your account.

5. Payment Security

We take the security of your payment information seriously. The following measures are in place to protect every transaction:

  • PCI DSS compliance: Card payments are processed through a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliant payment gateway;
  • TLS encryption: All payment data is transmitted over encrypted connections using Transport Layer Security (TLS);
  • No card storage: We do not store your full card number, CVV or PIN on our systems. Only minimal payment metadata is retained (e.g. last 4 digits of the card, card expiry month/year, transaction reference);
  • 3D Secure / Strong Customer Authentication (SCA): Where required by your bank or applicable regulation, you may be asked to complete additional authentication (e.g. a one-time passcode or biometric confirmation) before your payment is approved. This is a security requirement and helps protect you against unauthorised use of your card.

6. Fraud Prevention & Verification

To protect our customers and our business, we apply fraud prevention measures to all transactions. These may include:

  • Address Verification Service (AVS) checks to confirm billing details match your card records;
  • Velocity and behavioural checks to detect unusual ordering patterns;
  • IP address and device checks;
  • Manual review of high-risk or unusual orders prior to fulfilment.

Please ensure that the billing name, address and contact details you provide at checkout match those registered with your card issuer. Mismatches may result in your payment being declined or your order being placed on hold for verification.

We reserve the right to request additional identification or verification before processing an order where we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraud or unauthorised use of a payment card. If we are unable to verify the transaction, we may cancel the order and issue a full refund.

7. Billing Details

It is your responsibility to provide accurate and complete billing information at checkout. Providing false billing details may result in your order being cancelled. If your billing address changes after placing an order, please contact us as soon as possible at info@gadgetora.co.uk.

8. Shipping Charges

Applicable shipping charges are calculated and displayed at checkout before you confirm your order. Current standard rates:

  • Standard worldwide shipping: £9.99 flat rate;
  • Free standard shipping: on orders of £50 or more after discounts;
  • Express shipping: where available, costs are shown at checkout.

9. Promotions & Discount Codes

  • Discount codes must be applied at checkout and cannot be added after an order is placed;
  • Unless otherwise stated, only one discount code may be used per order;
  • Discount codes have no cash value, are non-transferable and cannot be combined with other promotions unless explicitly stated;
  • If an order using a discount code is partially returned, any refund may be adjusted proportionally to reflect the discount applied to the returned item(s);
  • We reserve the right to cancel orders where a discount code has been used fraudulently or in breach of its terms.

10. Order Cancellation

If you wish to cancel your order before it has been dispatched, please contact us immediately at info@gadgetora.co.uk or call +44 7418 635497. We will do our best to cancel the order before it enters the dispatch process.

11. Refunds

Approved refunds are always returned to the original payment method used at checkout. We do not issue refunds in cash or to a different card or account.

  • Refunds are processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned item or approving your cancellation;
  • Once processed by us, your bank or card issuer may take an additional 3–10 business days to post the credit to your account — this is outside our control;
  • For partial refunds (e.g. on part-returns or where a deduction applies), you will be notified of the amount before it is processed.

12. Chargebacks

If you believe a transaction on your statement is unauthorised or incorrect, please contact us first at info@gadgetora.co.uk. In most cases we can resolve payment disputes quickly and directly.

Initiating a chargeback with your bank without first contacting us may delay the resolution of your issue. We maintain records of all orders, communications and delivery confirmations and will respond to chargeback disputes raised with our payment provider.

13. Payment Failures & Held Orders

If a payment is declined or fails at checkout, your order will not be placed. Please check your card details and try again, or contact your bank if the issue persists.

If a payment is reversed or disputed after your order has been placed, we reserve the right to place the order on hold or cancel it pending resolution. We will contact you if this occurs.

14. Age & Capacity

By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into a binding contract. You also confirm that you are the authorised holder of the payment card being used, or that you have the card holder’s express permission to use it for this purchase.

15. Data Protection

Billing information collected at checkout is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and in compliance with UK GDPR. We retain only the minimum payment metadata required for accounting and fraud prevention purposes. Full card details are processed exclusively by our PCI DSS–compliant payment gateway and are never accessible to our staff.
